South Atlantic Pro Series Announces Technical Inspection Team and Pre Season Event for 2025 Season

The South Atlantic Pro Series (SAPS) is excited to announce its newly finalized technical inspection team for the upcoming 2025 Inaugural season. This experienced group of technical inspectors represents some of the most respected names in the short track racing industry. The four primary technical directors appointed for SAPS are Scott Larson, Gary Ifft, David Hickey, and Justin Larson.

The 2025 SAPS season will feature an 8-race schedule, primarily focused in the heart of the Carolinas, allowing competitors to save on travel costs while gaining valuable seat time and track development experience.
Meet the New Technical Directors

Scott Larson – A recognized leader in the industry with extensive technical and engine experience citing Fischer Engineering, Tri-Star Motorsports, Mac Hill Motorsports, etc. Larson brings invaluable expertise and knowledge to the technical team as he expected to guide the group to success.

Gary Ifft – A veteran technical inspector with a long history in Late Model racing. Gary started learning the craft alongside his father, the legendary David Ifft, who will still contribute to the technical side of the series.

David Hickey – A key figure in technical inspections citing all levels of short track inspection to the highest form of racing. With a wealth of knowledge and accomplishments within the racing community, Hickey will be a key member in pit area management and serve as a “go to” for competition and procedural questions.

Justin Larson – With a background citing Roush-Yates Engines, Justin will serve the engine department as well as overall technical inspection alongside his father, Scott Larson. Justin is eager to learn from such a stout group and hopes to bring his wealth of knowledge to the series as he grows in his career.

The technical crew, who have previously worked together in various forms, are eager to reunite for what promises to be a thrilling season of racing with some of the greatest minds behind the series ensuring an equitable and welcoming environment for racers of all budgets. “This group is a brilliant dynamic and given the right tools and trust in their extensive knowledge, we know they will carry this series to sustainable success” said Series Director and Co-Founder, Keeley Dubensky.

All interested competitors and crew members are invited to join the Pre-Season Driver/Owner Meeting scheduled for Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Tri-County Speedway (4405 Hickory Nut Ridge Rd, Granite Falls, NC 28630) free of charge. The meeting will provide teams an opportunity to meet with the series officials and technical inspectors to discuss rules, procedures, etc. Additionally, all media are welcome to attend free of charge to meet with future competitors and series staff as they are expected to release exciting 2025 news. Snacks and beverages to be provided.
The SAPS season will officially debut on April 5, 2025, at Tri-County Speedway in Granite Falls, NC.
