The Inaugural I-95 Showdown continues with round two tonight at Southern National Motorsports Park. The second leg of the opening round for the showdown is part of SpeedWeek at Southern National Motorsports Park.

Matt Cox comes into tonight's race the early points leader of the I95-Showdown with his victory in the annual IceBreaker on February 8th. A solid run tonight will not only add to his early points lead in the showdown but establish Cox as the early favorite to claim the SpeedWeek Championship.

Wednesday night is the start a four day stretch of racing highlighted by some of tough competition from around the area.

Amongst the names joining Cox is Doug Barnes Jr, Sam Yarbrough, CARS Tour Rookie Lanie Buice, Casey and Cody Kelley and past track champions Tyler Matthews and Ryan Joyner. The event is also bringing drivers from other forms of racing in. Anthony Bello who primarily competed on the SMART Modified Tour in 2024 will make his late model debut for Mike Darne Racing on Wednesday night.

Anthony in a statement on Facebook says "Very ready to get this season going with Mike Darne. Really happy to be a part of a top notice operation, looking forward to this season."

Perhaps no driver in the field has been as successful as Andrew Grady. Grady has raced at Southern National regularly in his career and has many wins at the facility.

In an article written by Andy Marquis on the track's website Grady says, “Always looking forward to going to Southern National,” Grady said.  “Especially with TORP Chassis.  We’ve been fastest every time we’ve been.  Just haven’t had the luck on our side that we need.  Anytime we go home to Southern National, I feel like you have to consider me a threat no matter what it’s in.”

“I just hope everybody’s smart,” Grady continued.  “There’s a lot of racing, a lot of nights.  I feel like it’s going to be a really good show with the guys that are going.”

Grady is referencing to the four nights of racing. The drivers will need to race smart throughout the week with abundance of patience.
